Notes:
Charles Wye Williams founded the City of Dublin SP Co in 1823 to operate steamers between Dublin and Liverpool. The service was extended to London in 1826.
In 1848 the Kingstown and Holyhead mail route was opened and the Coty of Dublin SP won the contract to carry the mails, replacing an admiralty service.
[Coastal & Short Sea Liners, CV Waine]
The service commenced on May 1st 1850, and for this purpose the City of Dublin SP Co purchased Llewellyn and St Columbia from the Government.
